Top Ten Desserts

Monday was the Top Ten Desserts at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York organized by Dessert Professional Magazine.
I had the best time over there not just because of the amazing sweet creations but also for the the cool crowd that I bumped into.
I love this event because it's not a competition but an honor to the "Top Ten Pastry Chefs" of the year.


The nominee chefs were:

  • Sandro Micheli, Daniel, NYC
  • Marc Aumont, The Modern, NYC
  • Christina Tosi, Momofuku Milk Bar, NYC
  • Damien Herrgott, Bosie Tea Parlor, NYC
  • Angela Pinkerton, Eleven Madison Park, NYC


  • My favorite dessert (even if I'm vegan I had to taste) was Sandro Micheli's, (below) simple and perfect!


    The great surprise was that we were featured in the cover of the magazine with Hasty Torres (Madame Chocolate), there are cool pictures of www.vegandivasnyc.com sweets and also some fun shots with Daniel Boulud when he devouring our Decadent layered triple cake and was nice enough to let us "take over" his uber kitchen at Daniel!
